What is Toluu?
Toluu is a utility that makes it easy to discover the feeds your friends read and find your new favorite feed. You import your feeds and then your friends can easily see what you actually read. You can also find others who have similar tastes in feeds as you do and discover feeds you may find interesting. It is quite simple.
Why would I use this?
We built Toluu because we knew that in our small group of geeky friends each of us had a couple feeds the others in the group would enjoy, we just didn't know which ones! We didn't want to be the guy who recommended a feed someone else already had, or worse, assume that someone already had that feed and never mention it. Toluu makes it less awkward to find out what your friends read and enjoy.
Is Toluu a feed reader?
No. We think there are dozens of fantastic feed readers out there right now and we know there are more to come. We like using our feed reader of choice and we bet you like your feed reader too. We see Toluu as a thin service that sits above your feed reader. A new way to 'feed' your feed reader (sorry for the pun). We do have a feed page, but it is truncated and is intended to serve as a taste of the feed, a quick way to determine if you are actually interested.
How do I get started?
You can browse the site and see what others are reading without joining, but the real awesomeness starts when you join. After joining, you will be prompted to import your feeds. We have many methods of importing your feeds such as OPML import, URL input, and a nifty bookmarklet. The next thing to do is to start connecting with friends and others on Toluu. Toluu will do some crazy math to find others in the system who have similar tastes as you. Once you have a few contacts, you can see a stream of what your contacts have been doing through the activity stream on the homepage. Finally, when you find an interesting new feed you can add it by clicking the 'Add Feed' button on the feed page.
Why do I need an invite code?
We are just getting started and want to make sure our servers can handle the load. We know there will be some issues as we navigate the coming months, and so we want to ensure our community has the attention it needs as we start out.
How can I get an invite code?

How do I keep Toluu up to date?
We want to make it easy for you to keep your Toluu profile current, so we built a nifty little bookmarklet. You can get it from the bottom of the 'Import' page. Select your feed reader of choice then drag the link to your browser bar. Then anytime you want to add a blog to your feed reader it will also automatically add it to Toluu. When you stop reading a feed, just go to that feed page on Toluu and click 'Remove Feed'.
Can I export my feeds if I want?
Absolutely! We aim to make Toluu as open as possible, this means giving you control of your data. On your profile page you will see a large 'Export Feeds' button. Clicking this will compile your feeds in Toluu and begin a download your personalized OPML file you can then import into any feed reader.
What are 'Fantastic Feeds'?
Fantastic feeds are feeds that are determined by one of our algorithms to be on the rise on Toluu. They are feeds that the community is determining are especially interesting or relevant. These are not picked by the Toluu team, they are culled from the implicit activity of the community
