- Weekly Hourlies for January!Today
-
I decided last-minute to do this, because I love the hourly comics, and I've been so delighted with Ryan Pequin's and John Campbell's daily hourlies through January, and I didn't wanna be left outta the fun.
It's all leading up to the official Hourly Comic Day, on Feb 1.
So I'm copping out a bit by doing weekly hourlies for January.
So sue me.
My last-year's hourlies can be read here.

1. My birthday is coming up.
2. My friend, Nelly, is in Israel, which freaks me out completely. I know that not the entirety of Israel is completely war-torn and explody, but they're usually not specific on the radio when referring to the horrors occurring in Israel. So this leads me to terrible anxiety over her situation, when she's probably just eating dates and going on nature walks.
3. There is clearly some weird livejournal hullabaloo going on. I'm sure we'll be fine, but if we aren't, I suppose I'll make a site blog for StopPayingAttention.com, and be very disoriented. I've had this journal since I was sixteen, and it would be very sad to break up my cosy and fascinating friends' page.
4. Between being sick and being busy/travelling, I haven't been to the gym in over a month, and I've eaten a millllion cookies this season. Besides feeling like a sack of goo, I've also wasted a month's gym membership! Aaarrrr.

Here's the first page of my anthology story for Side B. You can probably surmise what happened to my hard drive of music, but you'll have to buy the book to read all about it!
I can honestly say that I'm almost never this late in completing a project. I am pathologically early, most of the time (though I've been working on that, and intend to be late once in a while this year!). This story was submitted tonight, which is down to the wire, even after the deadline was extended! I was trying out a new, bigger format, which kinda threw me off. Also, I started about three other stories before this one, and decided they were crap riiight before I finished them. I don't know what got me so hung up on the subject matter, but music is a difficult topic to pin down.
Anyway, I've been working like crazy these last few days. I haven't been sleeping well, and I spend my downtime staring unblinkingly at Little Big Planet.

I'm afraid to say, folks, that having been given a PS3 and "Little Big Planet" for Christmas, you might never see me do productive work, again. Sorry, but I'm afraid that it's a video game with user generated content, in which you accomplish simple tasks and put stickers on stuff while STEPHEN FREAKIN FRY gives you helpful instructions all the while. I'm quite concerned about who might be READING MY MIND and developing these video games...
But in all seriousness, I should probably make some art... Or... Go to bed?
Nah. Here! I have some stuff to post for real, but in the meantime, check out this page spread from a book I made when I was little. I found it in my mom's office. The book's title is "Revenge of the Rampage." Big into alliteration, this one here. - John and Lucy's Puppet Blog, Episode 3December 19 2008

Nerds and FernsThe new theme music was composed and performed by John! Isn't it nice?
