- Funny thing about my last name: it really is pronounced how it's spelled. It's just that unless you speak Vietnamese, your tongue will not be able to wrap around the "ng" sound followed by saying the tripthong "uye" that gets people. Heck, most people probably can't even say "tripthong," much less define it.
