“What is your Twitemperature?”
Why it might be a killer
It’s fun to use, and it allows you to see how relevant someone is. With Twitter growing daily, this site could help you find interesting people to follow.
Some questions
Couldn’t they add more features? Maybe a detailed listing of what makes a Twitter account hot?
What it does
Back in the good old days, before Social Media and Twitter, measuring how hot a person was wasn’t hard. It was either by looks or by popularity, and that was it. But now, as if it weren’t hard enough, you’re also able to measure hotness by twitter. Twitemperature.com is a site that will allow you to determine how hot you (or your friends, all you need is a twitter user name) are in Twitter. Now wait, it’s not hot as you might think, it has more to do with influence. For instance, some person with the user name of “mbaa” is really hot, which means he’s twitting about relevant topics, which makes people listen to what he’s saying.
Me? Well, I’m basically frozen, but I barely take care of my Twitter account. In short, what’s this good for? Not much, but boy is it fun. One suggestion? Find those friends of yours that aren’t as hot as you and start making fun of them.

In their own words
“WhosTalkin.com is a social media search tool that allows users to search for conversations surrounding the topics that they care about most”
Why it might be a killer
This is really well thought out. It’s a great one-stop place to find the what people are saying about any topic you can think of.
Some questions
Will they add more sources in the future? How fast are the sources updated?
What it does
Have you ever wanted to know what people are saying about you or your startup? If so, then you probably tried Twitter Search, Google, and other things of that nature. But, is there a tool that lets you quickly search through all that web chatter? Yes there is, and it’s called WhosTalkin.com. With this site, you’ll be able to keep track of what people are saying about any topic you can think of. The site uses 60 of the internet’s most popular sources of information to help you find that chatter about your startup you were looking for. I was impressed by how well thought out the site’s UI is. It’s easy to sort through all the information, as the menus slide up and down in order to reveal what information you’re looking for.
The selection of sources is top-notch, and should allow you to find everything people are saying about any topic, be it you, your startup, or even your favorite trumpet player.

In their own words
“Atomeet is a free web service that helps you organize parties and events! Just fill in the form on the right to create your event homepage, then invite all of your friends!”
Why it might be a killer
It’s simple and easy to use. If you’re planning a party, stop by this site first.
What it does
I don’t know if it happens to you, but with all this technology available nowadays, it’s actually harder to organize a party. I never know how to get in contact with different people. One uses Facebook, the other one’s on MSN, and there’s always the social hermit that doesn’t have anything, not even a cell phone. Atomeet.com could get me (and you, for that matter) out of this crazy party organizing mess. The site is simple: it allows you to organize an event, pick a date, a place, a time, and tell your friends about it. Nothing more to it. So why, if it’s so simple, should you care? Because of that: it’s simple. Creating an event shouldn’t take anyone more than 5 minutes, and sharing it with your friends is simple.
Besides that, your event is going to have it’s own page, where people will be able to visit it and get more information on your planned event. In short, this site is great, and if you’re planning an event, this could be a great alternative to getting people to know about it.
Some questions
Facebook has it’s o - FeedCronicle.com – Custom RSS NewspaperJanuary 3
-
What it does
While the concept isn’t entirely new, FeedChronicle.com is a very creative site. With it, you’ll be able to create an online newspaper of sorts, using your favorite RSS feeds. While the RSS junkie might look at this as a sort of trend (using a Feed Reader is a lot more productive, average internet users will find this very interesting. The “newspaper” format looks great, as the feeds are formatted to fit in and between the advertising, making it look like a real newspaper. The feeds are divided into different categories, making it easier to sort through your many different themed feeds.
The site claims to be in the beta stage, but you can sign up and invite up to ten friends. Some of the features are nice, but more sharing would prove valuable. If they can incorporate some features found on readers (like sharing on Google Reader), they might be onto something.
In their own words
“Create and customize your own personal newspaper using feeds from your favorite sites; from the New York Times to Digg”
Why it might be a killer
It’s creative, and it looks great. Users should have a great time putting together their “newspaper”.
Some questions
Will people like this? Why not just use a reader?
