This is the first post on SnarkBlog. We have plans for this blog. Big plans. Plans so big, that the little people wouldnt understand them.
That being said, SnarkBlog is going to be focused on a fun look at technology. Here is how we define snark:
“Funny and Interesting. Sometimes Mean; Always Honest.”
Every month there is a New Tech Meetup held in Boulder. Strangely, its reported to be the second largest one in the nation, after New York. Which could mean many things, but based on the attendance, I am assuming its because of the free food, and the sign touting “Safe Haven and Weed For All Burnt Out Hippies.”
The first presentation was from bpCentral who has a software aimed at venture capitalists. Given that the 200+ people there were students looking for free food, entrepreneurs looking for free money, or out of work designers looking for jobs, his presentation went over very well.
As he began the room first presenter was reminded that there was a microphone in front of him, and it was actually on. How does someone who pretends to know the VC market not know how to use a fucking microphone? After quickly trying to wow the crowd with pretty graphs and big numbers, his application froze, and he mumbled that the room was probably not his target audience.
I found the product interesting, in that it made complex calcuations simple, but I was disappointed that
