Palms Out Sounds

Purple Crush + NorritYesterday

The duo in Purple Crush like crystal balls. They sometimes try to hide this fact, but they really do, they go to the park all by themselves with their crystals. But maybe it's this connection to nature that makes it all the better when they write songs in completely the other direction- a perfect example of which is "Get Digital" which is coming out very soon, along with a number of really great remixes- one of which I did with my friend Mazdha. But I'm getting ahead of myself- they just released my favorite Purple Crush song of all time, "Busy Boys" - and they're sharing one of the outtathisworld remixes from the EP with all of yous.

It comes from Lawrence, Kansas' own Norrit. Who has just released a fantastic solo EP on Think2wice records, and who has two EPs coming out on Palms Out featuring the ever talented and ever elusive Queen Bea. This remix is sooo solid. Needs to be heard on repeat at least 5 times.

Other fantastic mixes on the EP by: Jens Fokking, Sweat.X, Krames, Mike Genius, and THE Busy Boys themselves.

The Squire of GothosNovember 29

thesquireofgothos.jpg

"The warriors of the Global Low Frequency War looked upon him with a stare of admiration and hate that is known only to gods and generals. Lord General Reece Sub Bass had been bred for this war. His family was named for this war. And after he wins this war, Lord Bass will become the new king in the land of Boom."
-Excerpt taken from 2022's NY Times Bestseller
"A Brief History of the Land of Boom"

The Squire Of Gothos are duo warriors who hail from the UK and are flying the flag of Electrostimulation. They heard their call to arms and signed up for battle! And their weapon of choice in compact is wonky and it's fucked up! They pull the trigger on their 4 track EP, Rave Lord and it's madness!

Rave Lord is out now on Electrostimulation Records via Juno

Unsung HeroesNovember 26

Stereoheroes aren't your archetypal hero figures. As far as I know, they don't stroll around Metropolis sporting outrageously restricting lycra jumpsuits and pants on the outside. However, this could be a blind assumption - so let's start a competition here and now - best picture of a DJ in lycra get-up wins a biiiig high five. Clinging on to the superhero theme; I'm not positive on the exact number of global meltdowns that the guys have prevented thus far. But I'm not completely ruling out their credentials. Wolverine has got metal bones, Superman can do whatever the hell he likes and Batman has got a lame sidekick. Stereoheroes, possibly more impressively, can bang out an absolute corker of a track without breaking a sweat! Which is useful, because I imagine sweat shows up a lot on lycra. The guys have just finished reworking the fantastic "Washout" and have been filling the time in between lifesaving callouts by producing some other monsters - here are four of them for your delectation! Play them loud, and remember if you're ever in dire need of help that no mere human could provide... go for Wonderwoman. She doesn't have sheep following her around as animal sidekicks.

Erik Wikström - Marathon EPNovember 24

marathon.jpeg

Sweden's Erik Wikström (of Meatboys) has a new EP, Marathon, that's been getting support from modern disco DJs across the world. It's a solid release the whole way through and I get trainspotted everytime I play something from it. So much disco in Sweden! I love it there!

Marcus RomboNovember 24

One half of the already imitated production duo, Yeah! Woho!-- Marcus Rombo has blessed us with a quintessentially Swedish house song. Timing in at 8:49, it manages never to lose me. Superb production from a man quickly gaining ground in an increasingly slippery world.

Marcus Rombo - "Bringing"

"Bringing" was just signed, thanks to this post... so look forward to the full release!
