BlackBerry Media Sync for MacOctober 7

Feelin’ left in the dust while all your Outlook-loving PC friends get all the cool BlackBerry stuff? Well, RIM has been hard at work on the Mac side of things, and we’ve got a first look at BlackBerry Media Sync for Mac. This isn’t a final version so don’t get too depressed that the options are pretty limited at this time. We’d expect the final software to break down media types like photos, music, videos, and more. In its current state you can only sync music from your iTunes playlists, and it’s all very straight-forward. As far as the options go, you can choose where to sync your music to (device or memory card), choose to select individual playlists or all of them, and… that’s about it. We’ll quit talkin’ and let you do the lookin’. After the break, of course.

Verizon BlackBerry Storm viral videoOctober 7

Remember that post we made about Verizon filming average people in public using the Storm and getting first-hand impressions? Well, we were right, and so was our tipster! Here’s the video which we just got our hands on. People are “touching” the Storm and saying “oooh” and “ahhhh”. Though there were a couple iPhone mentions… Just remember they were all paid $20 each for their “appearances”. Thoughts?

October / November Best Buy Mobile release schedule shows Storm, Bold, Pearl Flip and moreOctober 6

When our ninjas dig, they dig deeeeep. One of our anonymous sleuths managed to uncover a relatively old slide from a Best Buy Mobile PowerPoint draft deck outlining a release schedule with quite a few gems on it. We’ve got all the top carriers covered here to some extent, so let’s have a look:

Coming October 26th:

• Sprint - Samsung M540 “Rant”, available in black, purple and red
• Sprint - HTC Touch Pro
• Verizon - Blitz
• AT&T - BlackBerry Bold 9000 (date obscured on image)
• T-Mobile - BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220

Coming November 16th:

• Verizon - BlackBerry Storm

Barring any major changes (or delays, as we’ll likely see at least with the Bold), Best Buy Mobile has quite a line up coming later this month.

While we wait for RIM’s ex-IDF teams to storm (har, har) the office, we’ve decided to share a ton of pages from the BlackBerry Storm’s User Guide with our loyal readers. It’s a lot more in depth than the PowerPoint was, and it walks you through practically everything. We posted what we thought were the most important parts of the device and things we haven’t seen before. For instance, the full home screen in both orientations, the active call screen, voice recording, camera and video camera options and viewfinder, BlackBerry Maps, tasks — stuff like that. If you’re feeling adventurous enough, hit the BGR gallery!
