- Vision Correction Without Lasik: Exercise Your EyesOctober 5
-
I used to wear glasses years ago. My vision was bad. My glasses were heavy. As a kid, I felt my glasses were ugly. I remember going in to the optometrist one day. I always hated going to the optometrist. My eyes were in bad shape, and they were always putting in those drops that dilate your eyes and shine a big bright light with the power of the sun into my cornea. This was agonizing for me. There was one particular day when I was sitting in the optometrist’s chair and he said Brad, you are about six steps from legal blindness.
This was upsetting. Because every time I went to have my eyes examined, I would end up with a more powerful prescription. Already, my eyeglasses were so thick and heavy they would put pressure on my nose that would leave marks. And here I was, learning that I was going do both get one step closer to legal blindness and two have to wear another thicker prescription.
Also, during this time, my family did not have enough money for glasses. Especially the type I needed which were heavy prescription, heavy frames, and stylish enough that I wouldn’t be bullied

Note: This post is like nothing I’ve ever written on this blog. Some of you may think I’ve lost my marbles. It may shock some of you. But I consider many of you my friends, And as friends, here’s my unfettered attempt to protect you from what I see coming down the road. I don’t mean to sound negative or pessimistic. I am only trying to be cautious and frankly, I feel that if some of what you are about to read does come to pass and I didn’t at least say something, I’d regret it. So read what you will into it, good or bad, but please take it as me doing my level best to help.
Like it or not, there is a huge financial crisis unfolding in the world. Banks are going bankrupt, 775,244 people have lost their homes this year (source Bloomberg ). Millions are losing or have already lost their jobs, and the threat of economic depression rivaling 1929 is a constant topic of conversation.
In August, the number of long-term unemployed (those jobless for 27 weeks or more) rose by 163,000 to 1.8 million, an increase of 589,000 over the past 12 months. The newly unemployed–those who were jobless fewer than 5 weeks — increased by 400,000 over the month. — source: US Dept. of Labor Aug 2008

- Make a Pocket Flashcard CaddySeptember 15
-
Flashcards are in my opinion, the very best way to memorize the most information quickly. Traditional index cards with your own handwriting
are easy, cheap and efficient. You can carry them in a pocket or purse for learning just about anywhere. However, there are a few downsides.
You can lose a card or two. You can drop them and have to play 52 pick-up. Or you might find that keeping them in a particular order is nearly impossible when they are carried loose in your pocket. In those cases, I recommend making your own Pocket Flashcard Caddy.
All you need is
