12 Days of Indie Holiday Shopping 2008: SupermaggieYesterday
12_days_header_small.jpg

Supermaggie is today’s ‘12 Days of Indie Holiday Shopping’  featured shop and let me tell you that is just so super terrific.

Supermaggie is made up of Maggie Kleinpeter & Michael Pittard.  Maggie is the creative force and Michael does a little bit of everything. They are both super nice people as well. ;)

At Supermaggie you will find some of the coolest tees around…seriously cool.  Their tees are wearable works of art and there are styles for both men & women available. Maggie also makes the most stunning felted scarves.  I’ve seen them in person and they are truly amazing and surprisingly soft. There’s also tees for babies, felted flowers and vinyl wallets (which are a collaboration with Slaughterhead).

12 Days of Indie Holiday Shopping 2008: ImogeneDecember 3
12_days_header_small.jpg

Today’s ‘12 Days of Indie Holiday Shopping’ featured shop is  Imogene.

Annie Chau is the designer behind Imogene, which is a very lovely line of jewelry. Annie is really a superb metalsmith and is definitely one of my favorites.  In fact, one of my most prized possessions  (until I lost it) was my fox necklace from Imogene.

In a world that one can very clearly say is over-saturated with jewelry designers, Annie’s designs really stand out. Just when you think you have her work pegged, she comes up with something new, but that something new is stamped with the je ne sais quoi of the Imogene line.

Gift suggestions from Imogene include: the Holiday Collection, the whale hoops & this adorable Bunny Necklace. You can shop via the Imogene website and a

Studio Spaces: a peek at some workspacesDecember 3

I asked the Indie Fixx Holiday Galleria participants to send me pics of their studios/workspaces. I am fascinated by other people’s spaces. I know that is one of the reasons I like to read design*sponge so much, especially her sneak peeks. It’s part voyeur, part design interest & another part living vicariously. But, I am really more interested in seeing the spaces where people work. So, here’s some  a few interesting workspaces for you.

Alison Broekhoven of Lemon Grove sent me these images of her bead collection, which it looks like she keeps in an old typesetter’s chest. So pretty and colorful, I love the ingenious ways people store their supplies. Alison makes some really visually stunning beaded jewelry with those supplies…I especially like the tube necklaces a lot.

12 Days of Indie Holiday Shopping 2008: Ink + WitDecember 2

Anyone who regularly reads this blog knows that I am a big Ink + Wit fan, and in keeping with my goal to share my favorites with you for  ‘12 Days of Indie Holiday Shopping’ I am so happy to share Ink + Wit with you today.

Ink + Wit is the line of paper goods, art & home goods from Tara Hogan.  You can choose from letterpressed, silkscreened or offset printed goods all featuring Tara’s wonderful designs and illustrations. I’m personally enamored with Tara’s prints and I own many. I have a complete set of her Aesop’s Fables’ series (it’s an older series, but you can still see the Tortoise and Hare here) and I also own the Pommebirds among others.

Whether you have an art lover (like me) or paper fiend on your holiday list, you can’t go wrong with Ink + Wit!  Good gift ideas include: the
