Happy Veteran’s Day…yesterday!November 12

I’m a day late on this post because I was super busy yesterday. However I have not forgotten to honor our veterans! I had a family session with a military family yesterday and it could not have been a more perfect day with the weather and the holiday.

As a military wife I understand the sacrifices our men and women in uniform make to ensure the freedom of this country. I also understand the sacrifices military families make all too well. My husband deployed to Iraq with 5-20 Stryker Brigade out of Ft. Lewis, WA from June 2006 - September 2007. I am thankful to have a husband who stands up for what is right and who is willing to defend our country and protect our freedom. No, I do not like when he is deployed and yes, I worry like none other, but I understand why he must do what he does. So today and every day I am thankful for my husband and all veterans who serve selflessly for my freedom…and yours! Don’t forget to thank the veterans in your life.

Death and TaxesNovember 3

I love to fly. I mean love. It is in my opinion the best way to travel. A few weeks ago Tim flew to Ft. Lewis, WA on business and I was uber jealous. I mean I know I had a wedding to shoot and all, but I could have still flown up there and back all in one day…right?? Right? My Dad on the other hand refuses to step foot on an airplane. He says that if he were meant to fly then God would have given him wings. Good point, I guess, but he has yet to experience the wonder that is air travel.

“C’mon Dad you have to fly down here to visit sometime. It’s so much faster than driving and you’ll love it I promise!”
“I don’t have to do anything. The only thing I have to do is pay taxes and die.”

And my Dad is so right on that one! haha Today I’ve been up to my neck in tax forms galore. I’m organizing everything for yet another meeting with my accountant. Thank goodness for CPA’s otherwise I would be taking care of this all by myself and probably end up in the looney bin from all the stress!

Happy Halloween!October 31

We procrastinated a little this year and finally carved our pumpkins today! Mine’s a “country bumpkin” pumpkin and Tim decided to carve our scottie Murphy into his. I hope that you all have a safe & happy Halloween!
