No Rock Band 3 For 2009Today

2009 will not be the year for a new Rock Band, Harmonix boss Alex Rigopolous has confirmed at CES.  He went on record stating “We’ve actually made a choice to break out of the annual release cycle for Rock Band this year”.  Maybe this is in part because Harmonix is working on the Beatles game that was announced last October.

While we are talking about Rock Band, the recently announced $13 Rock Band 2 SD card for DLC for the Wii is going to be released soon.  Oh sure it looks real nice, but before you shell out $13 for the SD card shop around any 2 GB SD card will work and as we all know if you shop around you can save 3-5 dollars on a 2 GB card as they are found numerous places for cheaper.  Hey with the money you save you can buy some new DLC from Rock Band for your Wii.

Xbox Live Primetime Coming in SpringToday

At the Microsoft keynote prior to the opening of the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show, Robbie Bach demoed and announced that Xbox Live Primetime, the live, scheduled multiplayer game show channel on Xbox Live, would be available this Spring. The demo showed how the player, in this case being the 1 in NBC’s 1 vs. 100, would be competing against several other competitors at one time over Xbox Live.

While 1 vs. 100 may not be at the top of everyone’s list for trivia games online (Hi, You Don’t Know Jack!), this framework could be great for all sorts of different applications on Xbox Live for delivering fun experiences to the masses. Plus, I’m a sucker for a trivia game, even if Danny Tanner hosts it.

Halo Wars DatedYesterday

Just announced moments ago at CES,  Halo Wars is set to be released February 28,2009 and the Demo is set to hit Xbox live on February 5,2009.  Also announced Halo3 ODST, a more traditional Halo game with new characters and a brand new look to the Halo Universe is coming in 2009.

Halo Wars is a strategy game based on the Halo Universe.

HOME updateYesterday

It looks like Red Bull may have noticed that Home is the boringest place on earth. So they are going to add some new content that we can stand in line for. Also for those of you virtual bargain hunters you will be pleased to know that a FREE Resident Evil shirt will be coming out soon.

PlayStation Home will be getting its first big expansion this week. The long-awaited Red Bull game space will finally go live, allowing players to partake in a free mini-game: the Red Bull Air Race (pictured). More content will be added to the Red Bull space over the coming months.

The US version of Home will also get its first access to the Diesel and Ligne Roset storefronts. Those of you that don’t want to pay for clothes will be glad to hear that free Resident Evil Degeneration t-shirts will be given away for anyone that caught a sneak peak of the movie in the Home theater. TO EVERYONE. Yay!
