Widgets have been around for almost as long as the internet became known as the World Wide Web. According to definition, a web widget is “a portable chunk of code that can be installed and executed within any separate HTML based web page by an end user without requiring additional compilation ”
But you want to make a widget. It is very easy to virally grab a widget and put it on your MySpace page. But how do you create the next-greatest widget?
This Blog post is the first in a 5 part series in giving a generic instruction on how to build a widget.
1) Think of a good idea.
You want to create something people would be proud to place on their blog or social page. What can you make that enhances someone’s web page? You also need to make something that the blog/social site owner can not easily create themselves. You also want to make it worthwhile for the blog/social site owner to waste precious screen real estate space.

Adobe moves in RIA are the most straightforward ones because they are the company that it is more publicly invested into transform itself and to be fully running on the RIA Web as soon as 5 years from now.
They got Flash, Flex, Shockwave, AIR and Reader as their main guns on the Mainstream. all but one are pretty much ubiquitous. but the thing that connect all of them is Flash. Flash 10 is where they truly begin with this transition to being a RIA company and RIA Web run company.
Why not say their in for the cloud computing mantra as you say when talking about Google?. because being fully into RIA`s got a clear cloud computing base that do not need to be recalled upon. but unlike Google. Adobe is also in a Software + Services Strategy just like Microsoft. but as competitors they cannot use neither Mantras and they will stay focus on spreading the notion that Adobe is about RIA`s. because RIA evocates Media, Powerful Browser Based Apps or Powerful Desktop Based Apps that are seamlessly connected to the internet. that means they only need that.
Flash is a mature platform and it reached up that state since 2004-2005 where it became clear it would became more and more widespread. Today flash is in everything in some form or another and Flas

Hulu got a great momentum and it being first on primetime video programming make it a shoe in to be close to unreachable to other trying to follow its footsteps. in the same way that nothing is going to catch up to YouTube being the #1 source for online video in general.
One of the partners in the creation and operation of Hulu is Media Corp, MySpace owner. so it is a no brainer for MySpace to give out Hulu a extra hand to become truly commonplace by exposing it to its 200 million userbase via it`s App Platform with MySpace Primetime. a Social Network Hulu Media Widget for MySpace.
This allows any MySpace user to put Hulu Content in their Profile page. the widget is very robust and works exactly as a hulu mini-site or Hulu in Widget form. My complains about it is the design and form factor of the widget.
I hope this is just a trail of MySpace Primetime and not its final form. it needs to evolve with a more pleasant
