- At Long Last! Search Comes to Revision3.comYesterday
-
Happy New Year everyone! When we last spoke, I mentioned we had some great things planned for 2009 for Revision3.com and today we’re happy to present to your the first of many. It’s been wildly requested by our audience and insanely useful now that we have it in place: Search functionality for Revision3.com!
We’ve got some cutting edge technology in place that allows us to index both our site’s content as well as the content within the show’s episodes! So if you’re looking for that review of Crysis on The Totally Rad Show? Just type in “Crysis” in the search box on the top of the page, and boom! You get every mention of “Crysis” on our shows. You can filter by shows to find your exact result, and when you pick the episode you want. We’ve also indexed all of our forum content, so if you’re looking for something specific from a flame war a few months ago, now you can find it!
This is the first step of a greater build out of our search functionality, and as 2009 progresses, we’re going to be rolling out even more great functionality around this search engine, which will enhance the ability to find exactly the information you’re looking for within seconds! So check out our new search functionality today and let us know what you think

Some of you have already noticed some small, subtle changes on Revision3.com recently, specifically in our Flash video player. We’ve been working behind the scenes to start the process of upgrading our flash player, as well the entire website for Revision3.com and we’re starting to roll things out for you to enjoy.
Today we’re excited to roll out a major upgrade to our Flash player’s user interface. I’ve embedded a video below so you can see it in action, but allow me to highlight some of the changes:
- Player controls now disappear when the mouse is not over the flash player (we had rolled out an early version of this a few weeks ago too)
- Larger Play/Pause button to the bottom left
- A larger, easier to navigate timeline, with time codes present when rolling over the the timeline with your mouse and a clear marker of where you are in the video
- To the lower right, the video quality button is larger and integrated within the Flash player
These are small, but important changes that we hope you enjoy. As we move into 2009, we’ll be making periodic updates to the Flash player, introducing newer and more interactive functionality. We’d love to hear what think and what kind of functionality you’d like to see in the Flash player, so please leave your comments below and let us know!

As you may have heard on recent episodes of Diggnation, we’ll be kicking off 2009 strong with our first LIVE Diggnation of the year, at the Knitting Factory in Los Angeles on January 14, 2009. The live Diggnation will be occurring at the Digg Meetup so this is your chance to rub elbows with Kevin Rose, Alex Albrecht and the rest of the Digg and Revision3 crew.
If you live in the Los Angeles area we hope you can make it. The Knitting Factory is one of the coolest venues we’ve ever booked for a live Diggnation, but capacity is limited, so you better get there early to make sure you can get in!

- EPIC FU Lives!December 30 2008
-
According to Dictionary.com, Epic is something heroic; majestic; impressively great. That is precisely the reason that Revision3 has been honored to include EPIC FU in its family. More than just Epic, the show’s real definition has been and continues to be about stoking the flames of geek passion — films, bands, technology, video games, going green, and all the rest of the things that stand for the cool culture of this generation.
We are extremely saddened that today’s episode of EPIC FU will be the last one distributed by Revision3. The good news, however, is that EPIC FU is absolutely NOT going away. The show will continue its goal and mission, and will continue to enjoy the two-way street that is the ongoing conversation with all of EPIC FU’s viewers and participants.
New episodes of EPIC FU will be available at http://www.epicfu.com, so be sure to stay tuned in 2009 for more EPIC FU.
- You Asked For It! PixelPerfect Returns!December 29 2008

Today we’re very excited to bring you a brand new episode of PixelPerfect!
“What’s this?” you may ask, “I thought that show was canceled?” It was. Back in October, we stopped producing PixelPerfect (one of our longest running and personal favorite shows), as part of a broader revamp of our lineup.
We knew that PixelPerfect had a lot of fans, but we were blown away by the show’s strong, devoted and loyal audience. You spoke, through a flood of e-mails, tweets, IMs and every other imaginable form of communication short of carrier pigeon.
We listened. So today marks the return of PixelPerfect. We’ve got some great episodes coming up, as master artist and teacher Bert Monroy returns with a wide range of insightful Photoshop and Illustrator tips, along with a sneak peek at the upcoming Adobe CS4 suite.
If you love PixelPerfect and want us to continue to produce new episodes, there are just three simple things you need to do:
1. Watch the show, every week, every episode. Subscribe to it via iTunes or your favorite RSS reader.2. Support all of our Pixel Perfect sponsors, including GoDaddy, Netflix and nVidia, using our PixelPerfect codes where appropriate.
3. Tell your friends, co-workers, associates…basically everyone you know, about the show. If the audience of Pixel
