Home Theater Forum has posted the official Sony Press Release announcing the Blu-Ray version of Ghostbusters on June 16th, alongside the new Atari Ghostbusters video game.Quote:

Videogamer.com is reporting that Gearbox's upcoming shooter, Aliens: Colonial Marines, will be launching in the in the first quarter of 2009. This news coming after word of layoffs at Gearbox and the news that the Colonial Marines title may be butchered into a multiplayer only title.Is Aliens: Colonial Marines title being rushed to market by a beleaguered developer?Quote:
Gearbox Software's hotly anticipated shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines will be out for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in the first quarter of 2009, SEGA has confirmed.
The news puts paid to concerns over the development of the game following perceived lower than expected sales of Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway.
Although SEGA was unable to clarify exactly what months Q1 2009 include when contacted by VideoGamer.com, it is expected to run from April to the end of June, the first three months of the Japanese company's financial year.

Electronic Arts couldn't let EvAv's Community Shame of the Year just go away quietly into the night. Instead, they've announced, without any details, that the first full fledged expansion to Spore, titled Galactic Adventures will be coming out at some point during the spring of this year. Electronic Arts today confirmed that the first full expansion to EA Maxis' Spore will be titled Galactic Adventures.
Though no details were offered on the space-centered game, a rough release window of spring 2009 was noted. Retailers had already listed the expansion for a March release.
Expect more information on Galactic Adventures later this month following an upcoming Electronic Arts "2009 Spore lineup" event.

Avoiding the stigma of milking a good thing, Harmonix today announced that they won't be releasing Rock Band 3 this year. CrispyGamer reports:With the plethora of DLC always available for RB, I think this is probably a fine move.Quote:
“We’ve actually made a choice to break out of the annual release cycle for Rock Band this year,” Rigopolous told the assembled press and industry members. “[This is] partly because the annual cycle places limits on the choices you can make as a developer. We’re trying to take a long term view.”
Rigopolous added that the delay was also partly so the developer could focus on the Beatles-focused game announced last October.
