- Mage Fanservice: A-mage-ing Videos!Yesterday
-
Every now and then, you see a video that you just have to watch again. Others you book mark for later. Some you have to share with everyone. These are a few videos that fit all three of those categories. And no I’m not talking about “Crouching Sin’Dall hidden Onyxia” that’s already been posted everywhere already. I’m talking about videos that make you glad you are a mage. I highly recommend downloading the videos in high quality. Links are below each video.
Arcane Fury - Atmas
This video made me so excited about being a Mage and speccing Arcane. Remember this was shot back when level 60 was the cap…he’s mostly pwning lower level players who weren’t asking for it but hey…its still so fun to watch. Music is mostly Luca Turilli. Lyrics crack me up. - Mage Tier 8 Set UnveiledDecember 31 2008

MMO champion this morning has the new screenshots of the Mage Tier 8 gear.

GBest looking set to date. I have always felt that the Mages have had to play second fiddle to some of the other class sets out there…none really seemed that exciting to me. Over at Not another Warlock nerf, there was a contest to vote for the best looking Mage set. Tirisfal seems to have won but I think thats only because its design is based off of a famous character /group in Warcraft Mage lore. That still doesn’t account for how “plain” it looks to me.
This new Mage Tier 8 set is perfect. Shoulders are cool, not overly huge or pointy. Chest(robe), Gloves, are decorated with the “eye” associated with Dalaran Mageiness. The Helm…I just can’t exactly place why I think the Mage Tier 8 helm is so bad ass. I think its because you can’t see the face of the one who is about to Frostfire you into twisting netherness. I knew this was
- Ask Aurdon: Whats up with Mage DPS yo?December 22 2008

This edition of Ask Aurdon is brought to you by Ragnar-O’s, the only Molten breakfast cereal that packs enough Marrowgrain to pass a Kodo. ”By fiber be purged!”
Murry writes in (weeks ago..my bad):
I have been lurking around your blog since I heard you Wowinsider. I have been really excited about the new mage talents. I am in a mid-level raiding guild. We downed Vashj and Kael pre-nerf and Archi, who wasn’t much easier post nerf, and Illidan post nerf.
I’ve now replaced almost all my gear using badges, heroics, and faction rewards in Northrend, I’m finding that I’m doing worse on the DPS Charts than I did previously. I’m pretty well geared now, but hunters eat my lunch. I can stay close to DK’s but they still beat me most of the time. I’ve tried Frost, FrostFire, and a quick test with Arcane. I’m going to try Arcane again, but it’s getting a little depressing. In my opinion the cast time of frostfire is just to long. You can’t stack to much haste because then you lose hit or crit. My recommendation to blizzard would be to give us a choice in talent specs. Something like, you can talent down the cast time of FrostFire, but lose the ability to do Hot Streak. With so much movement required in a lot of these fights we can’t stand back and cast. FrostFire may have the highest damage output POTENT

A number of commenter’s have informed me that the RSS feed and site has been redirecting to http://www.thenormalones.com/blog/. No I haven’t been hijacked by a young couple with two adorable kids…that’s my (somewhat abandoned) "personal" blog. I have no idea why the site would be redirecting or the RSS feed would be getting mixed up. They are both hosted on the same account but the WordPress databases are separate. Perhaps something wonky happened when I upgraded to WordPress 2.7. I’m going to just go ahead and blame my hosting/domain provider until I can figure out any reason not to.
If your RSS feed is screwed up, simply unsubscribe and resubscribe. If the site itself is redirecting incorrectly, the only suggestion I would have is to email me (isheepthings at gmail dot com) and I’ll try and get it fixed asap. I haven’t been able to recreate any of these errors but that doesn’t mean they are fixed. Feel free to comment here as well if you see any more web site shenanigans going on.

Ok so probably not really but they do run a pretty loose ship when it comes to web browser security. That’s why I haven’t used IE as my main browser since sometime in 2005 when I discovered the joy of Mozilla Firefox.
As many as 10,000 websites have been compromised since the vulnerability was discovered, he said.
"What we’ve seen from the exploit so far is it stealing game passwords, but it’s inevitable that it will be adapted by criminals," he said. "It’s just a question of modifying the payload the trojan installs." - [Source]
While Firefox isn’t completely immune to security risks, it does offer many more ways to avoid running into trouble. Now I know everyone has read plenty of articles about using Firefox with the Noscript plugin and keeping your antivirus up to date, but with the growth of Firefox’s popularity, it too will become a target for game password stealing hackers.
That is one of the reasons why I’ve switched over to using Google Chrome as my primary browser. I say primary because I still have IE an
