Most people at the age of 22 have just finished university, hopefully bagged their first job and are out in the big wide world of scary, skeptical adulthood. This, however does not necessarily mean they think like adults, yet most brands [and planners we've spoken to] seem to presume so. It seems that whilst you're a student you're considered young, in-touch and someone that big companies long to get on their side. At 22 however, you fall of the edge. Ouch.Apparently, from what I read last year, I'm working 9 to 5, wearing a trouser suit that makes me blend in but stand out [you know, 'cos the lining's pink] picking me up a Starbucks in one hand, grabbing at ambition in the other... Each lunch time I'm figuring out which trendy but affordable bar/cafe/restaurant I'm going to eat my wrap in and steal myself a glass of Chardonnay from and I'm only wearing sportswear to do sports in. My arse. Continuing on the stark stereotype, I go out straight from work and have some kind of freakin' Sex and the City nightlife where I sup on cocktails in a pair of high h - Ruby removed.January 3

It was three days before Christmas and some wench like woman asked me to remove my hood in Zavvi. We've heard a lot of brands wishing to 'own' music recently, and we always get a bit, well, annoyed about it, because music belongs to people and persons, not brands. And the only thing brands should be trying to do in terms of music are those bandied-brand words, 'facilitating' and 'enabling'... Hunter S says it kinda prettier, he knows the magic of music, the songs and sentiments that make things special... And anyway, we did a focus group recently where - in SIX MINUTES - the kids named 44 brands they saw as being part of the whole music thing, either in a good or an appropriating way... On top of this, we mailed out questionnaires... the same brands came up... As an overview, network brand 02 was mentioned by over 65% of the respondents... That'll probably go up too since they've brought all the Carling venues (isn't it a bit like when Reebok brought Thierry Henry and everyone was like, um, he's a Nike guy?)... Virgin, also occupied front of mind, and was cited by over 45% of the kids Carling (for the time being), took bronze with 35% of respondents calling it out as being appropriately involved with musi

So I was battling through the bustle of Oxford Street station the other evening during a particularly rowdy rush hour when I noticed a lot more police patrolling than usual. My intrigue got the better of me (as usual) and I went to get a sneaky peak at the center of the crowd forming. To my pleasant surprise the usually useless officers were giving away free oyster card wallets with 'Zip it' written on them. Pretty helpful. After picking one up though, the whole fuss seemed a little less worth it. The wallet contained warnings about keeping your belongings safe, not having your mobile poking out of your pocket and so on but nothing to actually help people do so. The wallet itself had no special or redeeming features and most importantly, no bloody zip.
Bit of a no brainer in my opinion...'Zip it you say? Oh alright then...erm, how exactly?'
Maybe this whole campaign would be a little more successful if you didn't just bark orders at people but facilitated them in keeping their stuff safe.
