Piling Up Low-Cost Youth In the SwampToday
A Daily Babble Production Thus far, there seems to be just one certainty regarding the New Jersey Nets' plan going forward: They intend to have the cap space necessary to make a legitimate run at LeBron in the summer of 2010. After that, it's all a mystery. It looks like Devin Harris is going to be the point guard for some to come. Whether the team will try and if it could be successful at getting out from under Vince Carter's massive contract between now and 2011 is anyone's guess. Same goes for the identities of the pieces that will be in place to help lure LeBron to town along with all the dough in two years. For now, the Nets remain an interesting set of question marks thanks to the youth on the team. They have done an intriguing job of putting together several young draft talents at low prices in hopes of having a couple mature big-time over the next two years. The only problem is that it's hard to see a bona fide blue-chipper in this group. Read More.. Howard Schultz = Sell OutToday
Thanks for giving into those heartless threats from David Stern. We all know the whole lawsuit was a publicity stunt. You should have tried. But no. Forever you will be known as the man that gave the Seattle Supersonics away. Worthless piece of coffee. You make me sick.

I would imagine it would be tough for any son to follow their father into a profession, in which dad was successful. Not to mention your father is being inducted into the Hall of Fame of that profession next week. Now imagine you are going to work in the same building that your dad had his greatest glory, and oh yeah there will be thousands of people watching your every move. Meet Patrick Ewing Jr. newest member of the New York Knicks.
Linkz of the Week: Listening to a whole day of WEEI or a kick to the face? Which hurts more?Today
The Linkz of the Week are your weekly (duh) guided tour through this wonderful depraved world of sports that we live in. Have a comment or a link? send it to me at tdonegan@gwmail.gwu.edu and I'll probably post it. I'm cool like that. ON WITH THE SHOW...1. Darius Miles' Career: Bullet Point StyleWant a breakdown of the Celtics' grasping-at-straws trade for Darius Miles? MVN blog has it all broken down from the day he was drafted through the Celtics signing. From what I'm reading (and what I remember) he's an alright kid with some of the typical NBA attitude problems who was put in a horrible situation. Cavs and Clips fans that I know say he's merely a talent who never had the right coaching while you'll hear Trailblazer fans dump on him all the time. The Blazers, who have come back to life by signing young, well-behaved talent and creating a ton of cap space, don't want him to succeed because it will cost them 9 million in cap space. It's a completely no-risk situation for the Celtics to see if they can get some production out of the SF position. James Posey he's not. But productive? perhaps.2. Blogger Listens to an Entire Day of WEEI; Miraculously SurvivesPink Hat Hell has a post from blogger Tiki who decided to take an entire day to listen to WEEI and live blog his impressions. Like most of you (and by that I mean, me) he doesn't listen as regularly as he once did, can't stand Dennis & Callahan or most of the on-air personalities, and pretty much thoroughly trashes the
