Number 34 - Lanky Len
This spirit is associated with the substation at the Sefton Park end of Queens Drive, Liverpool.
Len likes eating discarded fag ends and licking cold curry sauce from styrofoam trays.
On Christmas Eve, locals leave him an offering of a McDonald’s Happy Meal and a can of Fosters. If this ritual is not observed, Len cuts off all the electricity for the surrounding area just before the Eastenders Christmas special.

I’ll be joining Mercy to do some painting at Tate Liverpool this Saturday as part of their live art project ‘The Making‘. There’ll be poetry by Nathan Jones, music by Wave Machines, a posse of artists and illustrators and all kinds of AV voodoo going on courtesy of Sam Meech and Stuart Lancely. We’ll be there pretty much all day, so come along and say ‘hello’ or ‘what the bloody hell’s all this then?’
