The “1-Down” Mushroom created by DeviantArt user Undead Ed is to Mario what Kryptonite is to Superman. If consumed, this mushroom will give Mario the ability to shake uncontrollably with the chills, vomit, have extreme paranoia, and, of course, make time stand still. Too many, and it just might be game over for Mario.

The Artificial Smile Camera Turns Frowns Upside DownMarch 19

There’s something so contrived about smiling in photos. Seriously, my school portraits weren’t much more than mugshots with some lame wilderness scene in the background. Why not take the “work” out of getting photographed with a camera that does the smiling for you? That is the concept behind the Artificial Smile camera from designers Stefan Stubbe and Andreas Schmelas of the of University of the Arts, Berlin.

In theory, the camera would recognize frowns and replace them with some sort of composite, artificial happiness derived from a library of pics with smiling faces. Needless to say, that kind of technology would take some time to perfect, but the good news is that artificially haunting your images with ghosts is here…today!
