- Identi.ca in the newsOctober 8

Two new media references worth reading in the last week:
- Taking on Twitter with open-source software on CNET News.
- Cooking with Linux - Warp-Speed Blogging in Linux Journal.
Definitely both worth adding to our clippings file.

- OpenMicroBlogging meeting on Monday, 8 October 2008, 21:00 UTCOctober 2
-
We’ll be having a meeting of all parties interested in OpenMicroBlogging on Jabber IM on Monday, 8 October. The meeting room is openmicroblogging@conference.jabber.org. The agenda is available on a wiki page at http://pageoftext.com/openmicroblogging_agenda_6_oct_2008.
My goal is to see OpenMicroBlogging have a better presence on-line; improve in its featureset and usability; and be implemented by more proprietary and Open Source microblogging services. A number of volunteers have expressed interest, so hopefully this meeting will help it move forward.
- Podcast coverage roundupOctober 2
-
It’s been a while since we had a roundup of coverage of Identi.ca. I wanted to specifically link to podcast episodes where I’ve been talking about Identi.ca and Laconi.ca.
- I was on the August 18th episode of Technometria with Phil Windley.
- I spoke on episode 37 of FLOSS Weekly. Leo Laporte liked the software so much, he created the TWIT Army Canteen!
- I was on episode 52 of Linux Outlaws. They installed Laconica, too, at linuxoutlaws.net.
- Most recently, I was on the October 1 episode of The Command Line Citizen. It was a really good discussion.
