I'm here in Monterey for the Dreamweaver Conference. All the famous names are coming. There's a big party tonight.
It's gonna be great! I had breakfast with Murray Summers this morning. What a treat meeting him.
It definitely sounds like Macromedia will announce Dreamweaver 4.0 and UltraDev 4.0 and Fireworks 4.0 tomorrow. I'll post a lot of details tomorrow -- expectations are certainly high. Attendees here are buzzing. What will we see? What will Kevin Lynch reveal?
Ahh, but today is clearly for fun and games. The weather is absolutely wonderful. The Thunder Lizard Conference team is working hard. We stuffed 800 bags today. The stage is being built around me as we speak.
I'll bring over folks to talk with you over the next few days. It's gonna be a rocking great time. Keep tuned! - November 8 2000
- Wow. Now they are saying that there's actually a difference of only 1210 votes and there will be an automatic recount. It could be days before we know for sure who is our next president. Whew.

25,000 votes in Florida made the difference. Bush wins. Wow, what a night. Yes, I'm a political junkie.
I was enthralled with the evening, from all the networks having to eat crow (they all said that Florida would go to Gore and then pulled that back after realizing that their exit polls were wrong).
Just think if Gore had 30,000 more votes. He would have won, but without winning the popular vote. Yikes.
Anyway, Bush doesn't have a mandate and the Senate and House are almost even, so Bush won't be able to push through unpopular legislation. For instance, he won't be able to kill Roe vs. Wade. If he tries, it'll get voted down because at least a few Republicans will vote against their party's leadership.
So, the voters will get status quo. The folks in Washington will have to work together to get anything done.
And the Republicans will have to listen to us.
So, all is well. Well done America! - November 7 2000

Well, is anyone else going to hold their nose when they go to the polls tomorrow? Me too, but I won't tell you who I'm voting for. Go do your duty!
Anyway, here's some sites I visited today. New York Times. Jim Fawcette keeps telling me they have the best writers, and I agree. I still like MSNBC's layout, though. I don't know why those New York papers seem to think this is still 1900 with their approach to design.
Are you looking for help with a technology term? You know, something like "SSL" or "XML" or even something like "memory?" Well, Webopedia is the place to go.
I don't know why I am trying this Blog thing. Jeffrey Zeldman and Dave Winer's Blogs are so much better than my efforts. Heck, Zeldman made me cry with his writings about his mother over the past week. I hope I don't have to lose a family member for a long time, but Zeldman's writings about losing his mother helped prepare me in a way.
Katy Mulvey in the news://news.devx.com/off.ramp posted this URL that caught my eye. Technical Virgin. It cracked me up. Thanks Katy!
Oh wait, Katy had two home runs in one day. Check out who's an atheist among your favorite celebrities.
Note, I'm not an atheist. I think God - November 6 2000

Steve Broback cracks me up.
In a discussion with Jim Heid today they were reminiscing about ThinkTank and More. Dave Winer's stuff.
We're planning the Web Design Conference in Amsterdam on March 26-30. Space cakes. That's all I'll say about that.
Too busy to do much on the blog today. I'll try to drop in later.
