Miranda IM is designed to be resource efficient and easy to use while still providing many features including support for AIM, Jabber, ICQ, IRC, MSN, Yahoo, and more. Supplemented by hundreds of plugins and other content, Miranda IM is very flexible and provides many avenues for customisation.


The Miranda IM 0.6.2 release fixes some critical issues with the AIM protocol that prevented users from receiving messages. Improved UPnP support along with several bug fixes are also included. If you are using Miranda IM 0.6.1 or earlier, this is a required upgrade to ensure proper functionality with AIM.

The Miranda IM 0.6.1 release fixes some minor issues with chat windows along with providing an option to enable and disable UPnP support. Also, plugin compatibility with older networking plugins has been improved. If you are using Miranda IM 0.6 or earlier, this is a highly recommended upgrade.

The Miranda IM 0.6 release introduces UPnP support to improve file transfer and direct connect reliability through routers. Other changes include improved support for UTF-8 strings, improved tabbed options support, and numerous bug fixes. If you are using Miranda IM 0.5.1 or earlier, this is a highly recommended upgrade.

The Miranda IM 0.5.1 release provides increased stability over previous releases. Along with stability improvements, support for Google Talk contacts has been improved with the introduction of typing notifications and avatar retreival with Google Talk users. If you are using Miranda IM 0.5 or earlier, this is a highly recommended upgrade.

This is release 0.5 of Miranda IM, a smaller, faster, easier instant messenger with support for multiple protocols. Miranda IM is designed to be resource efficient and easy to use while still providing many features including support for AIM, Jabber, ICQ, IRC, MSN, Yahoo, and more. Supplemented by hundreds of plugins and other content, Miranda IM is very flexible and provides many avenues for customisation.


With the 0.5 release, Miranda IM introduces Unicode support, to further improve integration into multi-language systems. Available now are 2 separate download options. The Unicode version is available for Windows NT, 2000, and XP users and a non-Unicode version is available for Windows 9x and ME users. Another new feature of this release is the introduction of AIM Oscar. This provides users with the ability to transfer files and receive away messages that previous versions did not support. This release also increases the support for avatars among many of the protocols. Along with plenty of bug fixes and new features, we hope you will find Miranda IM 0.5 a satisfying release.
