- Newell Rubbermaid Scavenger HuntToday
-
A couple of weeks ago, our sister company, Rubbermaid, posted a scavenger hunt on their blogand I thought to myself -”That Jim is pure genius!” (actually I’m saying that because I’m hoping he hooks me up with a new garage organizer but I did think it was a great idea) See, a lot of folks don’t realize that Graco Children’s Products is company of Newell Rubbermaid. Well we are and we’re only one of the many great brands (if I do say so myself) that are part of Newell Rubbermaid. So I (Jim) thought it would be fun to do a quick scavenger hunt “sweepstakes” related to these Newell Rubbermaid brands and some of our online blogs and websites.
So here’s the challenge: Read the questions below and provide correct answers using the comments feature of the blog. When submitting your answers/comments, please be sure to include your email address (It will only be used to contact the winner).
Of the people who submit all the correct answers I will randomly draw a winner. The winner can choose between (1) a

I had an amazing time this holiday just relaxing around the house with friends and family – no real traveling for this lucky foursome. But what we lacked in roadtrips we made up in playdates. It seems not a day went by this holiday that we didn’t go to someone’s house to try out their new toys or invite someone over to show off our new toys. Old Friends. New Toys. What’s not to love? Apparently my son. (this clown ain’t laughing)
My son got his first taste of rejection. And not just slight rejection but nasty, in-your-face, meanness that could make any mom’s heart break for their child. I had been seeing some “unfavorable” behavior from one of my son’s little friends for a while now but nothing my son couldn’t handle (or so I rationalized to myself). But recently, the last 3 times with this same child, I’ve seen some downright nasty behavior culminating with the last visit’s, “I Hate You, Jagger!” (though he used my son’s real name, of course :) ) - at least that is what was told to me by my pouting 3 year old upon return from the play date. Jagger said “he’s really mean to me, mommy” with the most pathetic look on his face.It made me so sad to see my son like that. Clear

- New Years Resolutions for our New LifeJanuary 6

“From now on I’m gonna be, the kind of person I’d want my daughter to be.”
These words were taken right out of a Jewel song and will be my theme for 2009. As my fiancé and I share this amazing life we have built together, we are always planning for the future. We certainly embrace every part of today and savor every aspect, every minute of our lives at the present time; however, there is always a part of us that is looking forward to the future, looking forward to when we have a baby. We both feel that children simply make life better, the best actually, because there is nothing better than family.

As we look forward to embarking on this new chapter of our life as husband and wife (in two months!!), we took the opportunity to use the New Year as a time to make resolutions together- as a couple. I know what you are probably thinking – we’ll go to the gym, eat better, drink more water, never get behind on laundry, (these all go without saying, right?). However, we decided that we are going to be better people. Better humanitarians. We need to be the kind of people that we want to raise our children to be. You know what they say – you are the company that
- Childbirth Education 101 (my experience)January 5

To know or not to know, that is the question. Do you want to know that you can have a “home labor” or a “hospital labor”—and they can go on for 6-24+ hours? Do you want to know what an actual birth really looks like? Do you want to know what environment you will be delivering in?
Well, all of my questions were answered at my recent seven hour Childbirth Education class.Imagine a room of 10 smiling couples sitting in a horseshoe-shaped seating arrangement in our Doctors waiting room, clutching onto their pillows they brought from home. Our instructor, Nurse Nancy, worked at the hospital where we will be delivering. She was a “tell it like it is” kind of lady—and boy did she! Fortunately, there were no tests!
Some of my friends opted out of this milestone, so I thought it might be helpful if I list my key takeaways from the class for them:
•Fact: Bring a notepad & a pen! There are critical things you need to know, like you need to choose a pediatrician prior to delivery, your car seat must be installed when you leave the hospital, when to call the Doctor, etc.
•Fact: Bring a
