CHELSEA-ISH— El Chod is at it again. Curbed reports that the Kimpton Hotel group is opening a 54-story hotel/condo on 6th between 29th and 30th. It will have a ballroom, a spa, 8,000 square feet of terrace, and this: "Acclaimed restaurant operator, China Grill Management, will operate the restaurant and two bars in a multi-level, 20,000 square foot venue." Minetta Tavern in Plywood Days1) Greenwich Village: TONY reports that Keith McNally’s makeover of Minetta Tavern is ready for its unveiling this week. They write: “Eight months after its shuttering, the former Hemingway haunt has new blood, including an updated kitchen, but its most beloved elements—the bar, murals and tin ceiling—remain. Expect old-world comfort foods (roasted marrow bones, crispy pigs’ trotters), as well as the celebrated Black Label burger from Pat LaFrieda.” Status: Not Open.
