K-Swiss Acquires Form AthleticsYesterday

K-Swiss has acquired of Laguna Beach-based Form Athletics, an athletics apparel company. Form Athletics will operate as a division of K-Swiss led by Mark Miller, Form's incumbent founder and CEO. Under the agreement, Miller will become President of Form Athletics, and has also been appointed President of K-Swiss Orange County (KSOC), where he will establish and lead a new division of the brand focused on the youth consumer.

David Nichols, executive vice president of K-Swiss, says, "Form plays well as a growth opportunity for our portfolio as Mixed Martial Arts is one of the fastest growing, and most relevant new markets in sports today. Viewership and participation in Mixed Martial Arts events is explosive, as is the market for Mixed Martial Arts consumer brands."

Ellen DeGeneres Leaving American IdolYesterday

Well, this is sudden. Ellen DeGeneres just released this statement in which she resigns as a judge on American Idol.

A couple months ago, I let Fox and the "American Idol" producers know that this didn't feel like the right fit for me. I told them I wouldn't leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next. It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on "Idol" and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.

The release also quoted Simon Fuller and Fox entertainment chairman Peter Rice. Fuller said, "I loved Ellen's passion for the artists and her nurturing skills. She brought honesty and optimism to our judging panel and I will miss her greatly."

Rice said, "We love Ellen and understand and support her decision to bow out of Idol. We were fortunate to receive the humor, energy and love for talent that she brought to the show."

Video: Barack Obama Talks Lindsay, Snooki, the Bieber on The ViewYesterday

Barack Obama appeared on The View today and took questions about politics, war and the economy. But he also got grilled on his knowledge of popular culture. Joy Behar asked him if he was aware that Lindsay Lohan is in jail. He said yes he does know that, but he's not entirely sure how he know it -- which is hilarious. He said it's "in the ether." Maybe his daughters told him? Or perhaps he secretly reads RadarOnline.com?
