Tue 20 Jan 16:20
This year at the Nations and Regions Conference, BAFTA is sponsoring a special session on why big, set-piece entertainment shows are no longer made outside London. How can the Nations and Regions get some of the action?
Called "Strictly Entertainment London" and sponsored jointly by BAFTA, BAFTA Scotland and BAFTA Cymru, the session will explore the positives and negatives of producing popular entertainment shows outside of London and question why so many popular shows have moved from the regions to London. Can anything be done to halt the trend?
In a critical year for television, the Nations and Regions Conference is the only national event to focus on the industry outside London. A raft of top names head the line-up with an opening speech by the Rt. Hon. Andy Burnham MP, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport.
