In the WildlandsMay 18

Spring is here and if it has roots, it grows. And grows. And grows. Until the biological grass cutters arrive (read: sheep), I’ve only cut paths where people and vehicles walk. Everything else is five foot high wild grass or the out-of-control Himalayan Blackberries.

Luckily, my truck is not green, it’s muddy (read: was black + always muddy).

The BarcodeMay 15

I’ve been working on an art installation that I affectionately refer to as ‘nerdscaping’. It’s a 625 sq ft QR code (a type of advanced barcode) driveway, which I hope will be visible on satellite map imagery. Today was filled with back-to-back contractor appointments for electrical project estimates inside the building in front of the barcode driveway.

And needless to say, it was quite amusing to explain the bizarre, pixelated patten of concrete slabs to each contractor. Yes, really, a barcode for satellites in space.

You had to be there.

TrailheadsMay 3

Sunday was spent working on new trailheads at Camp Rezzing. Pleasing for the hiker, moderate for the biker– which reminds me, I’ve started to bike daily (although heavy trail riding isn’t as easy with the hybrid tires. Need to get something knobbier if this becomes a habit. But hey, I have the zillion ton Ironhorse.)

Rebuilding!May 1

I’ve moved this site to new host and started with a clean slate. Standard under construction disclaimers apply.
