- Google to Start Selling Ads in Video GamesSeptember 17
-
That’s the headline you might see on the major news sites soon. There is a rumored buyout of the Half-Life Creater Valve.
Every site I’ve read today, at first glance, thinks this is an unusual move by Google.
They usually go on to explain that, perhaps, this is a ploy to get the best digital content distribution service out there.
What most are neglecting, I believe, is that Google - for all intents and purposes - is an ad company.
They want to sell more ads.
What better way to do it than through games?
Sure, they might actually want the digital content distribution but my best guess, if the rumor is true, is that they’re doing it to start an effort towards ad distribution in games.

There’s a new service I found out today called Dropbox.
Basically it integrates with your file system in mac, windows or linux and lets you store files online. You get up to 2GB free and can get more space if you want it for a cheap price.
They keep backups of the files, store revisions of the files, you can even share files and photos.
This thing freaking rocks!

One of the interesting things about blogs is that people’s views change over time. What was once a good blog can become a crappy one or even change the content it’s producing on a daily basis…
Evidence of this can be seen on my blog as I went through a period of time where I put in quite a few affiliate links. Not that there is anything, bad, perse - about affiliate links but it really wasn’t and shouldn’t be the focus of my blog.
So what point am I trying to make? Well, quite often people have blogrolls where they point others to blogs that they ‘recommend’ or read frequently.
Normally, when a blog becomes crap, I simply remove it and move on.
Occasionally, however, there are times when the content becomes so outrageous that they deserve to be pointed out - in a nofollow way

Who am I talking about? Well, it’s James Brausch’s blog which was once a decent place to find some good information on forming an internet business.
Over the past year I’ve watched his blog go downhill as he schlepped his products more and more. It got to the point that there really wasn’t any useful information in his posts - it was simply a way to promote his products.
Of course, everyone is entitled to run their business as they see fit - and he’s probably making a decent amount of money from doing it.

Oh my god!
Look out! I’m going to QUOTE you AP!
The Associated Press is the bastion of the people’s right to know around the world. With a long history of involvement in FOI issues and actions,
Ooooh…you’re gonna have to send me a cease and desist order now!
Incidentally, if you’re so hip on freedom of information I don’t think you’d be taking the dumbass stance of saying you can’t quote more than 4 words from your articles…
Freaks!

So my buddy Levi has started a new site called DoggySpace.
He seems to have a midas touch with his businesses and I wish him the best with this one.
Anyhoo, I happened to be on his support page and decided to have a bit of fun…
Hi,
Can you help me find a dog? I want one that is cute and cuddly and that I can hug and call GEORGE!
Oh, also, how many pictures can I upload?

His response? Classic Levi!
