- Inspiration - Top 20 Facebook Status UpdatesYesterday
-
I really don’t have to explain what a Facebook staus update is, do I? Didn’t think so. One of my Facebook friends’ status today read, “Dropping the kids off at the pool.” If you’ve read this blog for any length of time, you probably know where my mind went, but it made me wonder if there was a place to find funny status updates that people could “borrow,” and it turns out, there is. The status updates in this post are all from a site called The Collection of Funny Facebook Status Updates. What follows are what I consider the 20 best status updates from that site…and they welcome you to use them.

- 11 Trendy Pics - Brad Pitt TattoosNovember 19
-
So last month, I had this idea of doing a weekly post featuring photos from Flickr using a popular keyword search. The result was Friday Flickr Tag Fun: 9 “Alaska” Photos. The post did better than I expected, but I forgot all about the idea by the next Friday. Tonight, it hit me like a brick, so I’m going to give it another shot. Here’s how it works - each week, I’ll check Google Trends for the most popular search, and I’ll put that/those keywords into Flickr (Creative Commons), and post the results.
Tonight’s most popular search term is Brad Pitt Tattoos. Umm….ok. From what I can gather, Brad Pitt was on Oprah today, and was uncomfortably confronted by a fan. If you want to find out more, just do the search. Here are the pics that came up in Flickr:

- 30 Dark, Beautiful Designs For InspirationNovember 19
-
There are many trends we see popping up in web design, but one that seems to really making a surge is a trend toward dark sites. I’m guessing it has something to do with everyone going “green” these days, and trying to do what they can to help the environment. I don’t know if dark sites save much energy, but the sites listed here are stunning! They use the dark to create drama. Adding color to a dark design creates a rich and tasty contrast, and one of the most common features of these sites is the saturated imagery. If you’re anything like me, you study amazing sites for inspiration, and hopefully, these won’t let you down.

It’s hard not to notice everyone “Going Green” these days. What seems like over-hyped marketing tactics, helping the environment isn’t all about selling cars and laptops. There are small things we can each do to help out the environment, and they don’t take much effort. Below are five easy ways you can help the environment - starting today.
#1.Make Someone else Change Your Oil
Like, a Certified Mechanic. Yes, you can save 20 bucks by doing it yourself, but we’ve seen how much drips onto your driveway and heads toward the storm drain - in some cases, full pans of it. A mechanic or “Quick Lube” will actually recycle the stuff. While you’re there, have them repair any leaks and do all the scheduled maintenance that’ll make your car burn less fuel and last longer, reducing overall pollution during its lifetime. Schedule enough work, you may even have to leave it at the shop and carpool for once.
#2.Buy in Bulk

- 5 Mesothelioma Treatment OptionsNovember 15
-

Not our typical content, but a reader asked us to post this. They didn’t provide much information other than the three mesothelioma treatment options, but I did a bit of research, and have tried to come up with enough information to fill in the holes.
Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that is almost always caused by previous exposure to asbestos. In this disease, malignant cells develop in the mesothelium, a protective lining that covers most of the body’s internal organs. Its most common site is the pleura (outer lining of the lungs and internal chest wall), but it may also occur in the peritoneum (the lining of the abdominal cavity), the heart,[1] the pericardium (a sac that surrounds the heart) or tunica vaginalis. - Wikipedia
I had a grandfather that died of mesothelioma, so this subject is close to home, and probably the reason I even considered putting this post together. If anything, I hope this post raises awareness. Below are five mesothelioma treatment options:
