- License problem after successful activation?Yesterday
-
For current versions of Bamboo products, Bamboo License Manager v2.7 is best installed from the Setup.bat file. One installer for 32-bit systems and another installer for 64-bit are included in the zip file; Setup.bat determines the correct type for that server. In Add or Remove Programs, the 32-bit type is named “Bamboo License Manager v2.7” and the 64-bit version appends “(x64)” to the end. When activating a license, a file is created in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\BambooShared\License folder. The activation file (.lic) contains the name of the assembly (DLL) selected in Bamboo License Manager.
Licensing is per physical server. In a farm with more than one Web Front End server, 'Bamboo License Manager v2.7' must be installed on each WFE and the license activated with a unique key.
Possible causes of licensing problems after successful activation:
1. The wrong type (32 or 64-bit) of Bamboo License Manager v2.7 was used. Add or Remove Programs appends "(64)" after its name for 64-bit; for 32-bit nothing is appended to the name. Please confirm the server’s bit type in System Properties of the server.

-
You may not know this already but SharePoint has this cool feature called Managing Item Scheduling. Have you ever wanted to upload a file to a library but only have it display between certain dates even times to all users? Well SharePoint has the answer for your dilemma.
First, here are prerequisites to use this functionality:
- Content Approval needs to be enabled on the library.
- Versioning needs to be enabled both for Major and Minor versions.
- And the real kicker, must use a library within a Publishing site, which means you need MOSS 2007 to utilize this functionality.
So what exactly does Managing Item Scheduling do? Let say you have this feature enabled. When you upload a file to the document library, when entering the properties in the EditForm.aspx page, you will notice 2 new columns: Scheduling Start Date and Scheduling End Date.
When you define the Scheduling Start Date this says when the Published major version of the document will be displayed to the end user in the List View. The options are fairly sel
- SharePoint, Pushups, and Breast Cancer AwarenessYesterday
-
As a man, I have noticed that men tend to be less likely than women to get involved in raising funds or participating in Breast Cancer awareness. In an effort to combat this tendency, the men in our office recently decided to see if we could help change the behavior, raising money for the cause in a unique and fun way, and to get the entire company involved as well. Being typical men, however, we were late by one month for the actual Breast Cancer Awareness month.
What does any of this have to do with SharePoint? Read on...
So as to get the entire office involved, a group of 9 men organized and ran a pushup pledge drive. Yes, you read that correctly: Pushups. Recall that "unique and fun" were among our goals at the outset.
Each man solicited donations from his colleagues on a per-pushup basis, pledging in return to participate in an office pushup contest. Our original goal was $300, but when the final pushup was completed, we had raised over $1,700! The excitement for the contest, including online polls and spirited boasting, really brought the office together in a fun w
