- A live, more interactive Rev3November 21
-
Television and the Internet are on a collision course that will revolutionize entertainment, but Revision3 is always one step ahead of the game.
Today, they launched a new live video player that allows the user to be the director. That’s right, you can control which camera you want to watch. The first show to use this new player was Diggnation with Kevin Rose and Alex Albrect.
“Barrett Lyon, founder of BitGravity, sent me an IM with a link to a demo of their multi-angle simultaneous HD streaming viewing experience. I said that we should totally try it out with an episode of Diggnation,” said Rev3 co-founder David Prager.

You can even get a behind-the-scenes look at the production of the show. Prager said they hope to use this technology for all of their shows soon.

Who really owns your social data?
That is the question that will be debated tonight at the headquarters of CBS Interactive in San Francisco, along with many others.
The Social Media Club, headed by Chris Heuer and Kristie Wells, invited a diverse group of techies to discuss the realms of social data. Cathy Brooks from Seesmic is moderating the panel.
The development of the next generation of the web is at stake. What will be discussed tonight?

- Uncov is back, and you can write for itOctober 9

The rantalicious tech blog Uncov took a brief hiatus from the Internet, but now it’s back.
Former Googler software engineer and current CTO of Pressflip Ted Dzubia will be doing most of the posting, but he’s opened it up for anyone to contribute. Expect stories from other Pressflippers Kyle Shank and Matt Kent.
Although this is not your normal type of tech news, there is still a need for slice-and-dice, Valleywagish commentary. It should be fun.

Today is International Talk Like A Pirate Day, and Facebook is playing along. Scroll to the bottom of your page, and change the language to “English (Pirate)”:

It’s silly, but also kinda fun:

Yer mateys on ye olde Facebook are yer shipmates and family ye wish to be in contact with during yer voyage on the high seas.
