- JXD 980 Packs a Punch with the new Sunplus 8000 ChipYesterday
-

JXD, who has been producing some of the fugliest player to come out of China as of late, actually comes out punching with their JXD 980, it does sport a nice 4,3″ screen, certainly not a touch screen with all those buttons around it, but that’s not the important thing here.
What really gives this baby its kick is the Sunplus 8000 chipset at its core. which is a combination of a ARM926, DSP and 3D graphics accelerator all in one. The chip can playback, at a full 30fps, videos in upto 1280×720 resolution, you may really possible never need to convert your videos on this player. The high speed DDR cache allows for better transfer rates between the NAND flash and the SP8000 chip, so it won’t be bogged down with the same problem of the data transfer slowing video playback on RK2706 and JZ47xx chipset players.

In or Out, it doesn’t matter, the 980 can record video or you can output video on to your TV. The JXD 980 will also have the highest TV out resolution so far, at a TV out resolution at 720×480, you can experience your videos better than what has been previously been available, thats not all, the player com

- First real images of Chuwi M70 - 7.0″ 800X480 Hi Res Screen MonsterNovember 30
-

I was emailed on Saturday a lot of new images of the M70 from Chuwi, its their first pictures of their M70, the monster MP4 player is confirmed to be using a LG made screen capable of support 800 x 480 screen resolution, this would be the first MP4 player to have such a large screen and high resolution combination. Although the Ainol V3000 was the first to have a high resolution screen, its 4.3″ screen is dwarfed by this 7.0″ screen.
Now its easy to debate if this should be still considered a portable media player, 7.0″ of video mayhem may not be the easiest thing to lug around, in fact, they could double as a mini screen for your desk. It may be a bit strange for people to take this out on a bus or plane, it would be like whipping out a small TV and it would probably only conveniently fit into a clowns pant pockets.
Looking past this players size, the overall design is simple, quite similar to the V3000, even the button layout. There isn’t much more info yet on what particular hardware this player would be running on, i do h
- Philips LUXE Released in S. Korea - MP3 + Bluetooth + Sexy = CoolNovember 30
-

Philips has released their new LUXE MP3 player, the stylish player is compact and feature filled. Their new MP3 player will be limited to the S. Korean market for now, i guess the competitive iPod market in the west would pass this stylish player over for its lack of video playback.

The LUXE is part of Philips GoGear player line, sticking to a compact, but stylish design, the player has a small OLED display on the side and hidden buttons around the side of the player. The LUXE will also have built in Bluetooth that will work in conjunction with your phone to work like a Bluetooth headset. This MP3 player will be pricey, the 2GB is looking to cost around USD$95, not sure if this will be out anywhere else in S. Korea, but lets hope so, it looks pretty darn nice.
