This is a quick video just showing the basic operation of the press. We don't have the motor hooked up, any ink on the disk or a plate in the chase. I am hoping to do the first print test run in a couple of weeks - waiting on plates and furniture to arrive. You can also see our curious dog Shelby, who kept trying to run over and greet our neighbor who was laying out ant poison. Ah, life!

Happy Anniversary to the only man crazy enough to marry me!May 7 2008
Yesterday was our first wedding anniversary, and I had been thinking about that cake for weeks!

Our wedding cake came from Coco Paloma Desserts and she gave us a baby anniversary cake for freezing. It tasted about as good as you would expect an unwrapped (we gave no forethought to this thing) cake that had been in a freezer for a year to taste.

I found out last week that our cake was featured in the Best of the Knot magazine! Has anyone spotted it? I haven't been able to find a copy of the book but I'd love to see it!

yay!May 5 2008
Ok, so I didn't update today but I have a good excuse! The Phil and I were sitting and having lunch when we heard a big rumbling outside. Is it the garbage truck? Is it UPS? No! This sound is too big to be either. And it's parked outside of our house! But, it can't be our press, right? Because the freight company is totally going to call to set up delivery on that thing. Because we need to rent a palette jack and make sure we're home and all that stuff. Right?? No! You are wrong! It totally WAS our press!

Now, the motor isn't hooked up and you can see how it's kind of rigged up using bent wire hangers so that it won't move in shipping, we're not undoing that until we figure out how to get it off the rickety old palette it's on (any ideas?). We're going to mount it eventually, but we may be moving into "real" studio space soon so we're in a holding pattern right now.

Anyway, it turns out that the freight company was wrong and we didn't have to rent a palette jack (thank goodness) and we didn't need a team of burly dudes or anything like what they said, which I now think was purely to terrify me. Phil and the driver were able to maneuver the press into our super clean garage/studio with relative easy, although I did spend some time cringing and watching from behind my hands as the

shopping: papercut hair pinsMay 2 2008
I love these papercut hair pins from seller bittystar. Completely non-traditional, but I think that's what makes them work. She offers them in a variety of colors, maybe for bridesmaids too? Would you wear these at your wedding?
