You may have received an email recently regarding the shut-down of Mash on September 29, 2008. To provide more information about what will happen to your Mash profile, and how you can save your profile information, please see the list of FAQs below.

Why did I receive an email about Mash shutting down?
If you recently received an email from us about Yahoo! Mash shutting down, your email address was listed as the primary contact email address for the Yahoo! account associated with the Yahoo! Mash profile. If you have not used Yahoo! Mash, please disregard this email. We regret any confusion in the matter.
What will happen to my Mash profile?
All of the content on your Mash profile with the EXCEPTION of your profile photo, nickname, age, sex and location (if you’ve provided this information) will be unavailable starting September 29th, 2008. If you wish to save any of the information that’s currently available to you on Mash, we strongly recommend that you return to http://mash.yahoo.com immediately and copy the content that you wish to save onto a separate document.
What will my friends see when they visit my Mash profile?
Any URL or web address used to refer to your Yahoo! Mash profile will be directed to a blank page on Yahoo!.

You’ve asked for more customization of your Mash page and we’re here to give you the good stuff! Did you know that the Module Gallery has tons of great styles! You can now grab a pre-made style to suit your personality and interests in the “styles” tab (link to the style tab) on the Module Gallery.
To add a fresh look to your profile, venture to the bottom of your Profile page to the “Style your profile” module and click the “cool themes” link (link to the style tab). We’ll take you straight to the “styles” tab where you can browse the themes by popularity, most recently added, or tags. Explore themes by clicking tags in the tag cloud, and the style gallery will display the relevant styles that you can use.
To apply a style to your profile, click the “Grab it” button next to its description, and the new styling will appear on your page! (The style code will be inserted into the style module in advanced CSS mode.) Come back to the style gallery often for updated themes and styles!

With 2007 swiftly coming to a close I’d like to raise a glass and toast the Mash community for your support and feedback since Mash’s arrival in September. The Mash team has spent the past few months listening to your ideas on the suggestion board and blog and have transformed your feedback into features such as Private Messaging and the Profile View Counter module, which have shaped the socially editable profile we’re all proud to be a part of.In 2007 we hooked you up with customization techniques using CSS, Flickr photo integration, Yahoo! Pipes, and pimping out your Pet. The Team was stoked to bring you the ability to track your invites and choose any of several languages to expand your Mash experience.
Your dedication to “mashing” has helped the community grow tremendously worldwide! We couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks for sending out invites to friends, fam

Hola, Mashers!
You can now use Mash in Spanish, Vietnamese, and Portuguese (and English of course).
To change the language of the site, click the language you want at the bottom of any Mash page, and poof! The site will reload in the language you’ve chosen. Note that any text you or your friends have added to your profile will stay in its original language. Here’s a screenshot of the language picker:
So, now you and your friends can see Mash in a whole new way.

Yahoo! Mash is in invite-only beta, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t want you to share in the fun. We’re testing things out and putting in new features every day and want you to be a part of it!
We’ve received hundreds of requests for invites on the blog, but unfortunately we can’t keep up with the demand. To make the experience better for everyone, we’ll be removing all current and future requests for invites, leaving only topic-related comments.
