GameJew Daily - The World of Games Without A Shirt

GameJew AKA Jonathan Mann, wants to uncover the stories you don't hear about in the world of video games. Games used for education, games in Africa, games made for a common good, games meant to push the boundaries, these are the stories that GameJew looks at. Game developers, game publishers, game theorists, game luddites, these are the people that GameJew is talking to.

(Screen Test for) The Search For T'UlosbaFebruary 29

And now for something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. As many of you know, I'm a huge Star Trek nerd and I've always wanted to do some kind of sci-fi homage type thing. I know there's a lot of people doing this, and doing it a lot better than I'll be able to . But hopefully I can put my own little spin on it. This is just a test video that I made in a few hours to see what it would look like. I shot it at my girlfriend's house, where I had a severe lack of tools (lights, green screen), so that's why some of the green screening came out so raw. Yeah. Anyway. Let me know what you think.

Mushroom Singdom Episode 25 (?)February 20

Singing virtual console reviews return (finally!) with Ninja Gaiden 3: The Ancient Ship of Doom and Phantasy Star 2. The Ninja Gadien song came out pretty well, but I'm not crazy about the Phantasy Star one. It was pretty late when I wrote these, I guess maybe I phoned the second one in. Let me know what you think!

So I got a lot of really good suggestions for a new website name. David Harris suggested mannmade.com, which I really liked, but it was taken.

So I'm going with mannmade.tv
Work on the site should begin within the next few days. I don't know how long it will take, but I'll keep you all posted!

This is what I was thinking for the logo. What does everyone think?

GameJew on FacebookFebruary 4

So, thankfully my computer is finally fixed. I'm not sure when or where I'm going to start doing GameJew live again. I WOULD say that I'd be able to start it this week, but I'm flying back into Berkeley this Wed., and I can't guarantee that I'll be able to do it.

So, two things. First, thanks for all your suggestions! A lot of good ones. I'm going to see what is still available and hopefully over the next few months we'll have a new website on our hands.

Second, I've set up a GameJew fan page on Facebook!

The good news and the bad newsJanuary 20

First, the annoyingly bad news. My computer has been having major power supply issues, and it needs to have the logic board replaced. I'm currently in Utah with Ivory, where we're checking out films at Sundance (we just saw an amazing docmentary called "The Linguists" about a pair of linguists that go to a variety of countries learning about languages that are on the verge of extinction...it was amazing and I highly recommend it!) and I won't be able to get my computer fixed until next week when we're in NYC.
Its certainly been really difficult to make new stuff and post it while we've been travelling. Rest assured that when we get back the west coast, things will pick up again.

Which leads me to my next bit of news, the good bit. The sure thing: I will in the near future be phasing out gamejew.com and moving to a different site. I love the name gamejew, but I've finally decided that its limiting my audience. I want you all to help me come up with a name for the new site. I'd like it to incorporate my real name, and not be limited to gaming. Email me your suggestions at songsforpeople@yahoo.com!
Gamejew, the character will still exist and still be a big part of whatever the new site is. I'm hoping the new site can incorporate everything I've done this far, from all my music, the stuff i've done for gamejew, The Last Nympho Leprecaun, etc. If I can make it happen, it would also incorporate many more ways for a
