Whoa straight razor, now that’s hardcore shavingJuly 2

A new reader sent me a link today with the top 10 reasons you should try a straight razor—10 Reasons to Shave With a Straight Razor—I love shaving humour.  Seriously most of the tips are applicable to DE safety razors as well.

I’m still not up for trying and the biggest reason is that I’m a lefty and I don’t think the razors are made for me.

I’m getting better with the Merkur though.  Using some pre-shave oil if I haven’t shaved for a couple days is a new trick for me (using it on pass 1 and 2 instead of just 2).

Though, I think they should cover how to stop bleeding from facial wounds as an additional section.

You know there is a good reason why Gillette called it a safety razor, straight razors just don’t say “safe” to me.

Few random things for guys on Canada DayJuly 1

It’s Canada Day up here and before I go off wandering Victoria and such, I thought you might like a few things to read today.

First is this week’s Manival, which, as always, has great stuff to read.  Looks a little sparse in the grooming and style dept.  Guess I should get on the stick and submit something.

I did that review of the BodyGroom, which if you guys remember was known for a pretty funny launch campaign.
