EcoWrap Your Gifts This HolidayYesterday

by Michelle Lentz

Ecobags - reusable canvas grocery bags - debuted in the Cincinnati area sometime in 2007. My husband and I were rather taken by the idea and decided that it would be a great idea for holiday gift bags as well.

I was thrilled to discover that 1BagataTime actually offers holiday-themed bags. You can pack tons of things into these bags as well.

This year, 1BagataTime is offering a holiday ecowrap package. It’s not much - 10 bags and 10 bows for $15.99. Last year I got both green and red bags. They were an absolute hit with everyone who received one from us. It’s a nice way to help “green” your holiday wrapping.

Monty Python Comes to YouTubeYesterday

by Michelle Lentz

So this really happened a few days ago, but I wanted to hang onto it until today. It’s the perfect fun post for a Friday. Monty Python joined the social media landscape and have launched their own You Tube channel.

For 3 years you YouTubers have been ripping us off, taking tens of thousands of our videos and putting them on YouTube. Now the tables are turned. It’s time for us to take matters into our own hands.
We know who you are, we know where you live and we could come after you in ways too horrible to tell. But being the extraordinarily nice chaps we are, we’ve figured a better way to get our own back: We’ve launched our own Monty Python channel on YouTube.

The introductory video is great, as seen below.

Bub TV: Ocarina iPhone App ReviewNovember 20

The Ocarina iPhone app has been creating a lot of buzz lately as it climbed to the #1 spot on the paid apps chart.  So, we decided to call upon our resident iPhone app expert and widget master (yes, we have one) to check it out for our viewers and see if it’s worth the 99 cents.

Twitter Time WastersNovember 20

by Michelle Lentz

The closer to mainstream Twitter gets, the more time wasting third-party apps will appear. I call that the Facebook model.

By watching my Twitter feed, I’ve come across three fairly pointless applications just today :

TweetValue: This site assesses the value of your Twitter ID. I have no idea how they figure this out or how it might ever be useful. According to the site, “The value is calculated with a Ph.D algoritm that is based on the public information available on your Twitter profile.” Uh, right. Anyway, JasonCalacanis is worth over $14000. Me? Not so much.

Twitemperature: It lets you know whether you’re “hot or cold on today’s topics of concern.” Huh? Oh, it continues. “f you’re talking about cool things and engaging in interesting conversations on Twitter, like every good member of the Twitter community should, your Twitemperature will, of course, increase. If you’re just navel gazing or being down right anti-social, then you’ll probably not have a very high twitemperature.” So, are you hot or cold? I’m feeling tired and anti-social today myself, so I was ice-cold.
